Providing the very best in Self-Defence and Personal Protection, we are happy to be representing Winnipeg as part of the Bissett Jiu-Jitsu Organisation,  and continuing in the high standards and capabilities this style produces.

Shihan Bissett  has been involved in JIU-JITSU and TAI-JITSU since 1970. He is an author and recognised authority in the fields of Protective Services and Combat Arts. Shihan Bissett has served as a Military Pilot with the Canadian Forces and with the United Nations, including tours in Europe, the Middle East, and Central America.  He has field-tested our Jiu-Jitsu system in some of the worst environments, with outstanding results. Beyond his own personal projects, Shihan Bissett continues to be an author, mentor, and source of inspiration as an enthusiastic teacher, training and developing solid Black-Belts who represent the high standards of our Jiu-Jitsu system. Sensei Kummerfield is a use of force specialist with 25+ years in the Martial Arts and Security & Law Enforcement, including High Risk Escort & Close Quarter Protection experience. Sensei Kummerfield is the Lead Instructor for Bissett Jiu-Jitsu Winnipeg, and started his Jiu-Jitsu career in 1993. He has been a Correctional Officer, High Risk Escort Officer and Staff Facilitator for the Manitoba Department of Justice, as well as the Security Manager for Greenroom and Sound Republic. Sensei Kummerfield is also recognised by the Manitoba Department of Justice as a facilitator for the Manitoba Security Guard Training Program, Life Safety Facilitator by the Manitoba Emergency Services College, and is honoured to serve The Manitoba Legislative Assembly, reporting to the Sargent at Arms and attending to the Gallery & Legislative Sessions.
